Eligibility & How to Apply

Northridge Retirement Center is a HUD-funded affordable housing community serving income-eligible seniors in Lamesa, Texas. Rent is based on household income, making quality housing accessible to those who need it most. Our team is here to guide you through every step of the application process with care and confidentiality.

Who Qualifies

Eligibility Requirements

Age Requirement

At least one member of the household must be 62 years of age or older, and/or a disabled person, to qualify for residency at Northridge Retirement Center.

Income Limits

Household income must fall within HUD-established limits for Dawson County, Texas. Income limits are based on household size and are updated annually by HUD.

Citizenship Status

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens as defined by HUD guidelines to qualify for housing assistance.

Background Screening

All applicants are subject to a background check. Certain criminal history may affect eligibility. Our staff can answer questions about specific circumstances.

Rental History

Applicants must have a satisfactory rental history, including no outstanding balances owed to previous landlords or housing programs.

Social Security Number

All household members must provide a valid Social Security Number or documentation of eligible immigration status as required by HUD.

Application Process

How to Apply

Contact Our Office

Call or email our office to inquire about current availability and to request an application. Our staff will answer any questions you have about the process.

Complete the Application

Fill out the application form completely and accurately. You will need to provide information about all household members, income sources, and rental history.

Submit Required Documents

Gather and submit supporting documents including proof of income (Social Security, pension, etc.), photo ID, Social Security cards, and birth certificates for all household members.

Application Review

Our team will review your application and verify eligibility. This includes an income certification and background screening. We will contact you with the outcome.

Move-In

Once approved, we will schedule a move-in date, complete your lease agreement, and welcome you to the Northridge community.

Waitlist Information

Due to high demand, a waitlist may be in effect. We encourage interested applicants to contact our office as soon as possible to inquire about current availability and to get on the waitlist. Placement on the waitlist does not guarantee housing.
